My Life Coach, Katie Pulsifer asked me “What are your values?” So simple right? NOT!
I was seriously stumped. I researched different words for a few days! 😆
I definitely overthought it. 😆 that’s just me. Out of lists of words I could only choose 3 to 5?
I came up with them. Finally. Love, Longevity and Authenticity.
And now I can make decisions quicker. It was a HUGE step for me in setting boundaries and making decisions. I had to know what I liked first! I wanted to learn what I’m all about.
Figuring out my three words was the start of me setting boundaries. I learned to say, “let me think about that or, not now but, maybe later” to things I knew I had no capacity for. I started spending more time doing things I wanted to do. I started asking for help when I really need it and sometimes just for fun too 😆. I started exercising and making it non negotiable.
If something came up and I couldn’t decide what to do, I just checked in with my values. Because that felt right! And waaayyyy easier.
How would a person that valued LOVE, respond in LOVE? __________
Would a person who valued LONGEVITY skip that rest? Yes or no?
Would a person who valued AUTHENTICITY tell their own truth right now? Yes or no?
I just ask myself! Does this align with my values? It makes saying yes or no sooooo much easier. Decision making is effortless. Taking time to figure them out is free and oh so worth it!
My values were no longer dictated by the Governing Body of Jehovah’s Witnesses. I had to find my own.
I hope you’ll take the time to find yours too and learn what you’re all about if you haven’t done that yet. 🤗
